In 2006, the prestigious science journal Science reported concerning the United States: “The percentage of people in the country who accept the idea of evolution has declined from 45 in 1985 to 40 in 2005. Meanwhile the fraction of Americans unsure about evolution has soared from 7 per cent in 1985 to 21 per cent last year.”[6]

Conservapedia: “The Trustworthy Encyclopedia”
Not saying you have to believe evolution blow for blow, if you don’t have a background in anthropology, but this is empirical evidence that America has become more stupid. Thanks, conservapedia.
And also, I love how you make the argument that because fewer people think that it is true in 2005 than in 1985, somehow means that it isn’t true. What a frighteningly awful twist of logic this website is. What an incredibly flawed premise that because fewer people can understand a complex issue, it is less true. I don’t understand three dimensional variable calculus, but I still trust that those guys know what they’re talking about.
I’m sorry that “Conservatives” have found the need to create a website which distorts facts and truths in an attempt to comfort their own “values” (as if evolution or creationism is a value, and as such can be part of a “culture war”). It’s quite the argument against holding these views.
BTW, the little thing that you have about there being a 5% decrease in believers vs. a 14% increase in people who are “unsure” would suggest that some people who previously stoutly said that they didn’t believe in evolution (as if believing in evolution is like the tooth fairy), are now open to the idea that they just don’t quite get it.
This website is actual garbage and should be destroyed.
